Frankenmuth Cheese Haus Premieres Animated “World of Cheese”
The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, 545 S. Main St., celebrated on Saturday the grand opening of its new 74-foot Figurinespiel Tower and the premiere performance of “The World of Cheese,” an animated story about cheese making across Europe and the U.S.
“The World of Cheese” features five children and their pets from around the world, sharing their stories about their countries and some fun facts about the cheeses produced there. Characters include:
Sophie from Holland and her duck, Lottie
Mario from Italy and his goat, Gina
Jacob from Germany, Otto the pig and Peter the rabbit.
Anna from Ireland, her lamb Molly and her dog, Finn
Michael from Frankenmuth and cow Betsey
The ten-minute long story includes county-specific music and interactive moments with the audience geared to young and old guest alike. Guests can take photos and videos of the characters.
The Cheese Haus offers more than 160 varieties of cheeses and has expanded the size of its building from 2,700 to 16,000 square feet. It includes a second-floor tasting room/hospitality area for group events and motor coach travelers. The new 74-foot onion dome tower houses the Figurinespiel daily performances and a fully-functional sundial.
