Former Saginaw, Buena Vista Manager Named Deputy State Treasurer
A former manager of the city of Saginaw and Buena Vista Township has been named Deputy State Treasurer.
Michigan Treasurer Rachael Eubanks has announced the appointment of Joyce Parker as Deputy Treasurer, overseeing state and government finance programs. In her position, Parker will lead programs within the state Treasury Department that provide financial services and bonding to local communities and school districts. She will also oversee property tax administration. Parker officially starts the job on July 15.
Parker is an experienced community administrator and credentialed city manager who’s worked on multi-million dollar budgets and led organizations with 800 employees. She’s held positions in communities across the state, including Saginaw City Manager and Buena Vista Township Manager. Most recently, Parker was President and CEO of the Municipal Group, where she was responsible for providing government services to cities, townships, counties and state government.
