Eight years ago today, Drake was named Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2016. The Canadian born rapper accumulated more than 4.7 billion streams in just one year. His his single, “One Dance” was the site’s biggest single of the year, with over 960 million streams alone. Far from being a one hit wonder, last year Drake was the #1 most streamed artist in the US with 8.6 million streams.

To break it down, 1 out of every 131 songs streamed, was a Drake song. He’s also the first artist to ever surpass 50 billion combined streams on Spotify. To quote a popular hip hop song, “Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t lie!” The numbers prove Drake remains the “King of Streaming”!
