A former music video producer sued Russell Simmons on Tuesday (February 13), alleging he raped her at Def Jam Recordings in the late 1990s. In the lawsuit, Jane Doe claims that Simmons made a “wrestling move,” pinned her down on his bed, and raped her at his Manhattan residence while she was getting his approval for a rough video edit. “Ms. Doe rejected his advance and told him to ‘get off’ and ‘stop’ several times,” the lawsuit states. “She told him she was ‘serious’ and she ‘meant it.’ But Ms. Doe was forcefully pinned, could not move under his weight, and Mr. Simmons would not listen to her.” Simmons, one of many powerful men accused of sexual assault in 2017, was forced to resign from Def Jam and his yoga lifestyle brand after multiple women revealed allegations. A 2020 documentary, “On the Record,” detailed the allegations.

Russell Simmons currently lives in Bali, Indonesia. Should he be deported back to the States to face allegations?
