Woman Dies in Car-Pedestrian Crash

A Vassar woman was killed Saturday night while attempting to cross a Tuscola County road. Michigan State Police said the 27-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle as she was crossing Saginaw Rd. near Caine Rd. Troopers were dispatched at 9:24 p.m. A 66-year-old man from Lapeer was driving the vehicle.

State Police at the Caro Post said neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
