Tuscola Shooting Leads to 1 Arrest, 1 Hospitalized
A 21-year-old Bay City man is in jail in Tuscola County for shooting another man during a Fourth of July domestic incident.
The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call around 11:30 p.m. from a residence in the 4800 block of Brown Road in Vassar Township for a man assaulting his wife. While they were en route, a second 911 call came in reporting the Bay City man, described as a family friend, retrieved a 20 gauge shotgun pistol from his vehicle and shot the husband in the head. The victim is identified as 38-year-old Trevor Betzing. Police administered first aid until paramedics arrived, transporting Betzing to a local hospital. His condition is unknown. The shooter was located hiding in bushes a few houses away from the incident. His name has not been released pending arraignment.
Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police and MMR.
