State police troopers in mid Michigan conducted several traffic stops over the past week resulting in arrests for illegal gun possession.

Last Friday, troopers with the caro post stopped two drivers in separate incidents, a 26-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both in Millington and both for seat belt violations. Police seized four illegal handguns in those stops. The cases are under review by the Tuscola County Prosecutors office.

On Tuesday, troopers in Saginaw pulled a vehicle over on Harrison Street near Vermont Street around 1:00 A.M. for having no insurance. There were three occupants in the vehicle, according to police. Troopers found a handgun with a missing serial number during a search and arrested an 18-year-old man and a younger teen. The driver was released from the scene. Police say both suspects have prior illegal gun arrests.
