Saginaw School District Showing Student Achievement Improvements
Saginaw’s School District is making a difference in student achievement at its partnership schools. Superintendent Doctor Ramont Roberts described some achievements to district trustees Monday night, September 30th.
Roberts said Saginaw High has shown a 4% increase in student proficiency while Jesse Loomis has scored a 3% improvement in math scores. Loomis students remained the same in language arts.
A new process bringing students involved in disputes to meet with administrators and learn conflict resolution skills. The program has led to a major decrease in the number of students being sent to the principal’s office or suspended.
The Michigan Department of Education has invited the Saginaw School District to outline its progress to other district in the state with under achievement in schools.
