Staff at the new Great Lakes Bay Health Center on Davenport in Saginaw say they’re optimistic that the tide can be turned in the battle against opioid abuse both locally and nationwide.

Manager of Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorders Services Gail McGee says they treat both mental health and substance abuse issues in patients. Opioids are NOT part of the treatment which utilizes  alternatives like modified acupuncture, electrical stimulation and
physical therapy.

She spoke prior to a Wednesday open house.
