Police Arrest Second Saginaw Township Shooting Suspect

A second suspect in the shooting of a 19-year-old man in Saginaw Township was arrested Tuesday, August 6.

Police apprehended 20-year-old Dakota Lapointe of Saginaw, accused of shooting the victim August 1, who was found lying in the road at Center and Joyce with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Police also arrested 21-year-old Antonio Vela, who’s been charged with assault with intent to murder, carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful driving away in an automobile and obstruction of justice.

The victim is recovering in a local hospital.
