Mt. Pleasant Teen Allegedly Brings Gun to School

A 17-year-old student in Mount Pleasant was taken into custody Wednesday morning after police allegedly discovered a gun in his possession.

Officers with the Mount Pleasant Police Department Youth Services Unit were sent to Oasis High School after an administrator contacted them saying a student may have had a weapon. Police conducted a search and discovered the gun in the teen’s backpack. He was arrested without incident and is cooperating in the investigation, according to police. It isn’t known if the gun was loaded or not.
