Midland to Host Olympic Nation Team

In preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Dow Diamond, the Great Lakes Loons home Stadium, will serve as a warm-up venue with a doubleheader against the Midland Lady Explorers. The 2020 USA Softball Women’s National Team will be in Michigan for a pair of stops as the “Stands besides Her Tour” rolls through the United States in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Games. Midland and East Lansing are two of the 30 cities on the tour that will host the Red, White and Blue as the team looks to capture the gold medal during the 2020 Summer Olympics. This is the first time softball is in the Summer Olympics since the year 2008. The game will be played in Midland on Tuesday, June 9th and the East Lansing exhibition game will be held the next day Wednesday then 10th. The “Stand Behind Her” tour evokes a powerful message of unity aimed to inspire communities to stand behind the members of the Women’s National Softball Team, America and the future generation of female athletes.
