Michigan Launches Home Energy Rebates Program to Cut Costs
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy has initiated the Home Energy Rebates program. This program is designed to assist households in reducing energy costs through funding for energy-efficient upgrades. It is backed by the federal Inflation Reduction Act. A pilot program is currently being conducted in Marquette County and Holland. The statewide rollout is scheduled for early 2025. Eligible households can receive rebates of up to $34,000 for various improvements, such as insulation and high-efficiency appliances. Contractors are encouraged to register for participation in the program. The pilot program aims to test the effectiveness of the rebates before the broader launch. Additional information is available on the EGLE website. The program aims to promote energy efficiency and reduce overall energy consumption in Michigan households.
