Manager fired after asking for employees to prove dog died in order to call off work.

Have you ever had a Supervisor or Manager at work who gives employees a hard time for calling off from work. The culture says these type of people are “doing the most” or “doing too much”. A Manager at Olive Garden in Kansas City may have taken the prize for world’s worst boss.  The Manager who was fed up with her employees calling off, sent her employees the following message, “If you’re sick, you need to come prove it to us. If your dog died, you need to bring him in and prove it to us”!

So this Manager, of a restaurant no less, told employees bring in the dead body of their pet to prove they have an emergency. To many people, these four legged companions are more than pets, they’re often considered family and treated as such. Everyone knows you don’t play with someone when it comes to their family, especially if they’re deceased. The Manager was ultimately fired when her actions came to light. So the next time you think your boss is being horrible for asking for a doctor’s note for calling off work, remember, it could be worse.
