A Kinde man died Monday, July 22 in a drowning accident in the Saginaw Bay.

The 30-year-old man was swimming with his fiancee and her children just east of McGraw County Park in Hume Township around 10:30 p.m. when he was pulled into deeper water by a strong current. He did not resurface after being pulled under. The woman and her children were able to safely make it to shore where she called 911. The victim was found by first responders 20 minutes after arriving on scene, who began life saving efforts. The victim was pronounced dead at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital in Bad Axe around 11:30 p.m. His name is not being released pending notification of the family.
