Grandmother Arrested for Helping Granddaughter Assault Student

An incident at a Mount Morris Township school last Thursday resulted in the arrest of a grandmother.

Police say the woman was dropping off her granddaughter at McMonagle Elementary School and entered the building for a behavioral meeting when she saw a student who reportedly gave her grandaughter trouble. The woman and girl followed the student into a bathroom, according to police, who say the woman held the child down while her granddaughter physically assaulted the student. Police have not said if the child suffered any serious injuries.

The woman is awaiting charges in the Genesee County Jail.
