The Huron County Sheriff Department is asking for help to find an out-of-state driver who led police on a 10-mile chase earlier this week. The chase started about 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, when a deputy attempted to stop the 2003 Buick for speeding near Caseville and Berne Roads in McKinley Township.
The driver failed to cooperate, running through several stop signs and reaching speeds over 100 mph. At one point, someone in the Buick threw a beer can out the window, in an attempt to hit the deputy’s patrol car.

The deputy was able to get the vehicle’s Illinois registration number and a good look at the driver, but had to abandon the chase for safety reasons.  Sheriff Kelly Hanson says the driver and vehicle may have ties to Bay City.
