Blactiquing Pop-Up Exhibit

A new one-of-a-kind Pop-Up exhibit is coming to Saginaw! Don’t miss it!
Blactiquing Space Pop-Up is making its debut with a grand opening on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 11:00am – 5:00pm. It will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from July 17 – September 5 or by appointment and is located at 409 Adams St., Suite 105, Saginaw, MI 48602.
Blactiquing is an exhibit of black memorabilia, collectibles, and artifacts collected over the years from antique shops and the curator’s personal family archive. It both celebrates the Black experience reminding us of its beauty, depth, rituals, and richness while chronicling the historical oppression of slavery, Jim Crow laws, and the KKK.
The exhibit has over 1,000 of items including artwork, quilts, music, books, figurines and a beautiful doll display expanding over a range of time periods. Curator Kevin Jones believes it’s important to preserve history as it not only tells the story of his family but tells many stories of America. Preserving artifacts is a way to remember, learn and honor those who came before us.
Come see amazing artifacts and hear some of the back stories behind the items and the legacy that many have left for generations to come.
