Beyonce Gives Dolly Parton Full Songwriting Credit For ‘Jolene’

Recently, Beyonce covered Dolly Parton’s classic, ‘Jolene,’ on her Cowboy Carter, and she named Dolly as the only writer for her version of this classic. Bey sings in her version, “I’m warnin’ you, don’t come for my man,” which is different from Dolly’s version, where she is ‘begging’ Jolene. Dolly reacted to this version and said, “Wow, I just heard ‘Jolene.’ Beyoncé is giving that girl some trouble and she deserves it! Love, Dolly P.”
