Bay City Commissioners approved on a unanimous vote Monday the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget which starts July First.

The overall plan is worth almost $150,000,000 including a general fund of just over $20,000,000. City officials say the budget is largely status quo, continuing a range of services. Highlighted projects include the Trumbull reconstruction scheduled for completion around November First. Design work to reconstruct Wenona will also begin.

Water and sewer rates are projected to increase about 2% mainly to cover city costs. Those rates are to be approved after a second reading on July First.
