Some 90 people came to Midland’s Grace Dow Library Auditorium Thursday for a Town Hall discussion focusing on racism.
Event organizer and psychologist Ziggy Kozicki says the idea of separate races perpetuated in the 19th Century is a myth as virtually all DNA is the same in everyone. He added diversity is responsible for America’s success and that like it or not, Americans will have to learn how to get along with each other.
Area residents presented conflicting opinions about Midland with some calling the community accepting while others described incidents ranging from racially based vandalism to use of the “n” word.
